Deadline for Gatwick Consultation is         3 February 2015

Tell the Airports Commission NO!

They are asking for your view on whether a 2nd runway should be built at Gatwick

Tell them by 3 February 2015:

The Parish Council voted to object to a Second Runway at Gatwick, you have to make up your own mind.

A reminder of what a Second Runway would mean ....

  •   Making Gatwick bigger than Heathrow, with twice as many planes in the sky and three times as many people     affected by aircraft noise

  •   New flight paths over peaceful areas and more flights over tranquil rural areas and AONBs

  •   Large scale inward migration of labour from elsewhere in the UK or EU, with the need for 40,000 more houses   and ruining the countryside

  •   18 Listed buildings demolished and pressure on schools, doctors, hospitals

  •   An extra 90,000 rail passengers per day – meaning standing room only and an extra 100,000 vehicles per day   meaning traffic jams on motorways and local roads

You could also tell them that ...

There is no need for any new runway at Heathrow or Gatwick because: any new runway will be contrary to climate change targets and you don’t want to have to pay up to £28 extra per return flight from Gatwick to pay for the cost.
